November 2023
Loran Tang, recruiter and training coordinator of Children Ministry

Be fruitful and multiply

Since we have come back to in-person worship 2 years ago, Junior Worship and Children Worship has combined together as to streamline manpower. In the past year, however, the number of kids attending Combined Worship has been growing rapidly. Teaching a class of 40 kids from Grade 1 to Grade 6 is increasingly challenging.

After praying and searching for a coordinator for Children Worship, God answered our prayers and provided Hilda Leung for us. Starting January next year, Hilda will be the coordinator of Children worship (Gr 4 to Gr 6) while I go back to my former position as the coordinator of Junior Worship (Gr 1 to Gr 3).

We are very excited!! Splitting the big group means that Children Worship and Junior Worship will each has more space, a more age appropriate curriculum and teaching approach. To sum it up, the teachers can sweat less and the kids can learn better.

Junior Worship kids will meet at the old basement at 9:30 every Sunday starting next year while Children Worship will stay at the new basement for their message time. In order to help the older kids to transition to adult worship after they graduate from Children program, Children Worship will join English service for praise time every Sunday. Our current song leaders will stay at Junior Worship.

We are working hard for a smooth transition and to recruit new teachers and helpers as to support two groups of worship. Parents, please stay tuned and make efforts to send your kids in. Worshiping God is not something we know or will do naturally even though it’s the very core value we should pursue in our lifetime. Let’s partner together to teach the kids to worship God.

If you have any questions regarding Children Worship and Junior Worship, feel free to ask me or Cheryl.
