Refresh our direction by God’s Calling (Mission-focused)

      One impact the pandemic produced is a lack of motivation:

      “When being home is so cozy and safe, why venture out?”

      “I just don’t feel motivated. Maybe I’ll resume church life later when I feel better.”

     “Why reach out now, probably no one wants to connect anyway…”

       Let’s ask ourselves, “How is my soul?”  

       Whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.

 ( Luke 14:27)

       Have we been so focused on ourselves, our own comfort and security, that we have lost the purpose for which God has called us? 

       Once upon a time, a shoe company sent two salesmen to a poor country to determine the market potential for their products. One salesman was sent east, while the other salesman was sent west. Both salesmen completed a basic survey of the target market and called back to the office. The salesman sent to the east reported: “No one here wears any shoes, there is no market for us here!” The other salesman sent a message “No one here wears any shoes, there is a huge market for us, send inventory fast!”

       An entrepreneur looks for gaps in business, and sees an opportunity. 

       What would a Disciple be looking for in the post-pandemic world?

        In every circumstance, God gives us opportunities to be salt and light for the power of the Gospel (Matt. 5:13-14). Privately in our personal life, and publicly in society. 

        Part of our definition of being a disciple is “Mission-Focused”. 

        When we focus on ourselves and our own interest, we naturally gravitate toward comfort and security. But when we shift our eye sight onto the mission that God has entrusted to us, we become motivated. 

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is hidden.

 

        What you do today matters. How you use the opportunities and time given to you matters. 

        Let’s focus on what God has call you to do, and the opportunities He has placed in front of you. Your action, obedience, faithfulness today can have unimaginable impact. 

神的呼召更新我們的方向（以使命為焦點）

       疫情過後帶來的影響之一就是我們缺乏動力。

     「家裏如此舒適和安全，為什麼要外出冒險？」

     「我就是覺得沒有動力，也許等我感覺好一點後，我就會恢復教會的生活？」

     「反正都可能沒有人想與別人聯繫，為何要現在作外展的工夫呢……”

         讓我們問問自己：「我的屬靈生命現在是什麼景況？」

          凡不背著自己十字架跟從我的，也不能做我的門徒。

路加福音14:27

         我們是否過於專注於自己、己身的舒適和安全，以至於遺忘了神呼召我們的目的？

         曾幾何時，一家鞋業公司派兩名銷售員到一個貧窮的國家，以確定其產品的市場潛力。其中一名被派往東邊，而另一位就被派往西邊。兩位銷售員都完成了市場的基本調查，然後回到辦公室。派往東邊的銷售員報告說：「這裡沒有人穿鞋，我們在這裡是沒有市場的！」另一位銷售員就發了一個信息道：「這裡沒有人穿鞋，我們有很大的市場呀，請儘快送出貨品吧！」

         一個企業家會搜尋商業上的缺口而找出契機。

         在疫情過後的大環境裏，主的門徒會尋找什麼呢？

         不管任何情況下，神都給我們機會為福音的大能做鹽做光（馬太福音5:13-14），在我們個人的私生活中，或在社會中都如是。

          我們作主門徒的其中含義是「以使命為焦點」。

          當我們專注於自己和己身的好處時，我們自然會傾向於選擇舒適和安全；但是當我們將視線轉移到神賦予我們的使命時，我們就會變得有動力。

          你們要思念上面的事，不要思念地上的事，因為你們已經死了，你們的生命與基督一同藏在神裡面。

歌羅西書3:2-3

           你今天作選擇的取向是重要的，你如何利用眼前的機會和時間更是重要。

           就讓我們專注於神呼召你要去作的事，以及祂擺在你面前的機會。你今天的行動、順服和忠心將帶來超乎想像的影響。
