During this time of isolation, the home becomes the center for work, school and play, parents are overwhelmed and parenting becomes a challenge. The Saddleback Church has a variety of free resources to help parents during this time, and few of the note worthy ones are as follows:
1. Parent Survival Kit: videos on topics such as managing chaos, how to handle emotional pain during the COVID-19 crisis, how to grow spiritually as a couple, and faith conversations with your family during quarantine.

During the press conference on Wednesday, Premier John Horgan announced that regular return to classrooms is unlikely until September. This definitely is disappointing news for families as this create a lot of uncertainties regarding our children’s education.
With all the bad news around us, we really need Jesus in our homes more so than ever, the church understands your concerns and is striving to bring you resources to help your family thrive at this difficult time.
Focus on the Family has numerous free activities and resources for children. There are articles and podcasts which speak into areas of marriage and parenting and family devotions which will help your family grow deeper in Christ. They also provide free entertainment for your children such as 4-week trial of Adventures in Odyssey Club, where there are over 800 episodes of audio dramas. There is also an online streaming service called [email protected] with 30 hours of biblical based family entertainment.
Parents must be feeling stressed and overwhelmed at this time trying to balance work and home schooling our children, please make sure that you are taking good care of yourself especially your mental health. There are a couple of articles we would like to highlight to address this area:

We are in this together, even though we cannot control the circumstances around us, we can control how we react. We know for sure that we shall overcome as God is faithful and He promised to see us through difficulties, we can therefore take refuge under the shadow of His wing:
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

We understand this is a very trying times for both adults and children dealing with all the challenges at home. The LifeWay Kids Ministry has recently created a free resource for this purpose - the LifeWay Kids at Home and LifeWay Preschool at Home Digital Pass experiences. Families can easily access their weekly activities, videos lessons and conversation guides. New lessons will be updated weekly on Thursday midnights, so parents can have their weekly home-training. Please note that these lessons are only free and available till the end of the Spring quarter.
