Summer Programs

Teens are asking lots of questions about sexuality. After all, they're in a season of discovering their identity and attractions and learning to navigate relationships. And the culture around them is pushing a message about sexuality that sounds like good news: "Be whomever you want to be and love whomever you want to love. It's not a big deal."

But we all know the truth is that the Bible’s message about sex, attraction, identity, and relationships is by far the better news.

Therefore, this summer, at ROOTS (youth sunday school),  we will use a curriculum to help students think about sexuality and its related topics through a gospel lens. The purpose of this curriculum is to help students

• to see Jesus as good news, worth whatever sacrifices are necessary to follow Him in holiness
• to see the connection between how they use their bodies and their union with Jesus.
• to view and treat the people around them—in relationships and on screens—with honor and integrity.
• to be secure in their identity in Christ rather than trying to create an identity based on attractions or actions.
• to be prepared to combat the culture's lies and stand strong (and joyfully) on the truths of God's Word as it relates to sexuality
• to receive Jesus' abundant grace for all of their failings and extend that grace to others.

We will divide the class based on teens’ genders and grades. We will have male teachers for boy classes and female teachers for girl classes. May they all get transformed by the Holy Spirit through this amazing learning journey.
