Brothers in Action – Part 2
This month, we have another brother, Anthony, to share his serving experience in
Awana.
Let’s meet Anthony Wu!!

我兩個仔Marcus, Matthew從細細個開始參加Awana Cubbies，到完成T&T之後，轉眼十年兩個已經成為Leader同LIT（Leader in Training）。
我從來對兒童事工都冇負擔，因為好怕要應付一啲比較活躍嘅小朋友。
有次兩個仔返到屋企分享喺Awana事奉入面發生嘅事，或者講起點樣應付某些小朋友嘅情況，我都會畀啲意見，但係佢哋通常都只會同我講：「爸爸，你唔喺嗰度，你唔明㗎啦！」
其實見到一班家長同年青人，願意每個星期六晚擺上自己寶貴嘅時間去服侍其他小朋友，建立關係去將福音廣傳，作為家長我真係好欣賞。
喺教會大力嘅鼓勵同太太嘅支持之下，我決定加入Awana同兩個仔一齊事奉，係一個好得無比嘅經歷。
我發現喺Awana事奉比自己想像中更有意義。每星期可以同小朋友背金句、玩遊戲、建立關係。將神嘅話語種喺每一個小朋友嘅心到，見到佢哋慢慢成長，到有一日可以見證佢哋接受主耶穌基督成為佢哋生命嘅救主，係一個好大嘅祝福。我亦感謝神我大仔Marcus喺上年已決志受洗。
所以如果你一直都未參與Awana，又或者就算對兒童事工未有負擔，我都好想鼓勵大家可以參與。當投入之後，先發現原來收穫最多嘅，唔單止係小朋友，而係自己同屋企人都一樣得著好多。希望將來可以見到更多弟兄姊妹一齊喺Awana互相配搭事奉，將福音廣傳比下一代。
My two sons, Marcus and Matthew, have been involved in Awana since they were very young, starting in the Cubbies program. After completing the T&T program ten years ago, Marcus is now serving as a Leader, while Matthew serves as a Leader in Training (LIT).
To be honest, I never felt called to serve in the Children's Ministry because I was intimidated by the thought of working with energetic children.
Over the years, my sons would often come home and share their experiences serving in Awana or tell me about the challenges they faced with certain children. Whenever I offered my advice, they would smile and say, "Dad, you weren't there—you don't understand!"
As a parent, I have always admired the parents and young adults who faithfully dedicate their Saturday evenings to serving children, building meaningful relationships with them, and sharing the gospel.
With strong encouragement from our church and the support of my wife, I finally decided to join Awana and serve alongside my sons. It has been an incredibly rewarding and joyful experience.
I have discovered that serving in Awana is far more meaningful than I ever imagined. Every week, I have the opportunity to memorize Scripture with the children, play games with them, and build genuine relationships. Planting God's Word in their hearts, watching them grow in their faith, and one day witnessing them accept Jesus Christ as their Savior is an indescribable blessing. I also thank God that my eldest son, Marcus, was baptized last year.
If you have never served in Awana—or even if you don't feel particularly called to the Children's Ministry—I would encourage you to give it a try. Once you become involved, you'll discover that the greatest blessings are not only for the children, but also for you and your family. I hope to see more brothers and sisters serving together in Awana as we faithfully share the gospel with the next generation.
