Faith can truly be passed from one generation to the next…..
VBS and Arts Camp may be over, but the precious memories of how God spoke to our volunteers and the impact He made through these camps continue to linger in their hearts, weaving His footprints into the tapestries of their lives.
I have invited Campion and her daughter to share their experience with VBS. Through their sharing, you will see the beauty of intergenerational faith and the bonds that bring our community together.

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. (Proverbs 22:6)
Because of this Bible verse, I have been serving and helping children know Jesus for many years. This year, I began serving in BAC children ministry through Junior Worship and Kids Camp. During Kids Camp, God refreshed my vision of intergenerational faith and reminded me of the beauty of generations serving and growing together.
I am so thankful to God for the many wonderful snapshots He allowed me to see in this camp.
At first, I thought having 61 crew members — including aunties, uncles, and teens — serving 75 children together in a five-day camp would be quite a challenge. Yet, as the camp unfolded, I was deeply encouraged to see everyone faithfully serving in different ways: teaching biblical truths, leading worship, guiding art activities, preparing snacks, and caring for the children.
What touched me most was seeing different generations learning from and encouraging one another. Adults offered experience and support to the teen leaders, while the teens brought fresh energy, enthusiasm, and genuine love for the children. The kids loved spending time with the teens and looked up to them.
I was amazed to see our teen leaders willingly giving their time and energy serving these children. Their love and commitment gave me hope that faith can truly be passed from one generation to the next — not simply through teaching, but through relationships, example, service, and shared life.
On the last day, I was especially touched by a beautiful scene. All the adults and teen leaders stood around the children in a large circle, worshiping and singing our theme song, “So, So Good!”, with one heart, one spirit, and one mind:

As I looked around that circle, I was reminded that this is what intergenerational faith can look like: children, teens, and adults worshiping, encouraging one another, and growing together in Christ. God brought us together to remember His goodness, build His Kingdom, and build one another up.
May we continue to serve faithfully, love generously, and pass our faith from one generation to the next — so that, as Proverbs 22:6 reminds us, the children we serve today may continue to walk with Jesus throughout their lives.

One of the most meaningful parts of volunteering at VBS was being part of the children’s growth and seeing them develop stronger relationships with God and their peers. Through the different activities at VBS, I loved seeing how the children gradually stepped out of their comfort zones, became more confident, and learned to enjoy the camp. I truly appreciated the opportunity to encourage them in their faith and demonstrate kindness, respect, patience, and godly values through my own actions.
Alongside this, I especially enjoyed building genuine relationships with the children. Throughout the camp, I spent time chatting with them, getting to know their personalities and interests, and creating an environment where they felt comfortable trusting me and sharing with me. Over the course of the week, I was able to build strong and meaningful bonds with many of them. Even after VBS ended, many of the children continued to approach me after worship to play and spend time together. Seeing them run up to me and ask me to play showed me how meaningful positive connections can be and reminded me of the important role that leaders can play in a child’s faith and personal growth.
